CONFORMITY I
stood before my window one late night And
looked into the moonlit woods where I Had
been so many times when sun’s bright light Revealed
nocturnal hidings to my eyes. But
as I gazed just then I was not sure What
lay before me in mysterious dark. The
shadows in the trees, they seemed to lure Me
by their strangeness on the ashen bark. I
felt warm humid air of sultry night As
I found myself walking mesmerized Toward
the darkened woods, forbidding light To
reach inside in depths of quiet demise. I
am alone, I thought, and yet the trees— I
feel them watching me—they who led Me
here, but still were deaf to all my pleas To
let me go and give me back my bed. I
stopped. I could not move,
and there I stood At
mercy of the trees. They
moved, I saw; They’re
closing in, and I’ll soon too be wood.
The
sunlight broke. My roots
were sunk like claws. http://ascension2000.com/ConvergenceIII/c315.htm
